Secret Pants names Narragansett their “Official Beer”

Secret Pants Sketch Comedy, Narragansett Beer Form Match Made in Heaven

Philadelphia, PA – February 16, 2012 – In an unprecedented move, Secret Pants, Philadelphia’s longest running, consistently active sketch comedy troupe has formed a partnership with Narragansett Beer, proudly naming Narragansett the “official beer of Secret Pants”. E-mails requesting that Secret Pants become the “official sketch comedy troupe of Narragansett Beer” have gone unanswered as of press time.

Secret Pants formed in 2004 at Temple University and have remained Philadelphia’s most efforted comedy troupe ever since. They remain together, citing an “inability to let go of things” as reason. Over 60 of their short videos are available at secretpants.net, and they perform regularly on stages and at bat mitzvahs in Philadelphia. The marriage between Secret Pants and Narragansett Beer should come as no surprise to those who have experienced Secret Pants in the presence of alcohol, where they have also garnered the moniker; “most booziest comedy troupe ever… what ar’you lookin’ at?!”.

Narragansett Brewing Company was founded in Cranston, Rhode Island in 1890, the same year as the infamous Wounded Knee Massacre in what is now South Dakota. In 1914, when the company built the most modern bottling plant in the region, Narragansett Brewing Company became the largest lager beer brewery in New England. After changing hands several times, the brand was bought in 2005 by a team of local Rhode Island investors led by former juice executive Mark Hellendrung, who announced plans to expand its market share and reinvigorate the Narragansett brand identity. Hellendrung is not aware of this deal between Narragansett Brewing Company and Secret Pants, as he is likely busy doing important grown up things.

Narragansett is unknowingly excited to bring their beer and their slogan, “Hi, Neighbor!” to Secret Pants

events and shows throughout 2012. Secret Pants is excited to have an official beer sponsor, drink lots of Narragansett, and hopefully write more fake press releases.
